missional orienteering

I’ve not tried this out yet but the principle is simple, to construct an orienteering course to take various teams on a journey of faith through a biblical journey such as the journey of the Israelites in the wilderness.

For those of you not familiar with an orienteering course, it is the old school way of navigating with maps, compass and landmarks, etc. You teach people to map read, but at the same time they become aware of their environment. These types of orienteering courses would take you form one waypoint to another and each time that you find a waypoint you will get a clue and a map location to the next place. If this is done well the waypoints will indicate parts of the biblical journey and enable participants to both picture and learn about faith in God.

This one has potential for church groups, youth groups and also for taking non-christians on a journey of discovery without overtly preaching to them.
